New Postcard from Len

The waterfall, in case you’re wondering, is in Buhl, Idaho. It saved my life. Tom Butler here, normal guy, irrigation equipment salesman from Sioux City, Iowa.
Could I have a love story worth telling, one worth reading too? It’s one ‘too hot not to cool down’. All you lyricophiles know Cole Porter nailed the concept back in the 1930’s. Then of course Sinatra sang it into public consciousness in the mid 50’s.
In my case, she was Katy Inglewood, also known as Mirielle Stevens, an incredible woman with two names–for good reason. She was always Mirielle to me. I believe I said, “She was the kind of singer you’d like to walk in on, in a strange city, on a Thursday night.” That’s what I did, in Cincinatti, in 1985. I remember the day well because in the afternoon I saw Charlie Hustle go 2 for 4; the infamous Pete Rose for all you non-baseball types.
Hard to believe a talented young jazz singer could have taken up with an unassuming guy like me? It only happens in the movies, right? Jimmy Stewart would have played me, or maybe Mitchum.
If you like “love at any cost” movies, you’ll like Chanteuse. It’s the leadoff story in in Len Koepsell’s’s ORIGINAL CONTENT, Seven Short Stories for Movie Mavens, Volume 2. I didn’t bunt just to get on base. I cracked one over the fence. Here’s a short cut for you: Amazon, Goodreads.
